We are Seenons, a tech company with a mission: a world without  business waste. Our platform brings together all players in the waste industry for circular waste management. This way, we help large organizations reduce waste and together we recover as many valuable raw materials as possible from business waste – on the way to a circular economy.


We have developed a platform with a corresponding app that finely matches business waste with waste processors who give the waste a second life. From the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, and Belgium, we are now working hard with 80 colleagues on our mission: a world without waste. But our team of Waste Warriors is not yet complete! For our team in Turnhout (BE), we are looking for a
Finance Specialist.

How you will make a difference

As a Finance Specialist, you ensure the smooth operation of the Finance administration. You will be part of a driven team and will receive support from the local Lead Support & Planning and the Head of Finance and Financial Controller based in Amsterdam. Within this team, you will be responsible for managing the operational finance of Seenons Belgium, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and the monitoring of controls. Additionally, you will support the Support & Planning team with administrative tasks (approximately 1 day per week)


Below is a selection of your responsibilities:

  • You check, process, and book incoming and outgoing invoices (and related data) in our accounting system. You investigate and resolve any discrepancies.

  • You allocate invoices and expense reports to the correct cost centers.

  • You track and manage payment terms to ensure invoices are processed on time.

  • You assist with the preparation of VAT returns and play a crucial role in the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • You ensure that all financial data is recorded correctly in Exact Online and assist in the preparation of the month end reconciliations

  • You manage the accounting mailbox and are the first point of contact for inquiries.

  • You contribute to Finance projects. You are able to identify connections between the data we receive and the data contained in our platform.

  • You will develop yourself in Finance topics that interest you. This can be anything, for example, data analysis or process optimization.

Job requirements

You are the perfect candidate if you:

  • Have 2-3 years experience in a Finance and/or Accounting role and want to develop yourself further in this direction.

  • Possess thorough knowledge of VAT legislation.

  • Are proficient in Spreadsheets. Experience with Blue10 and Exact Online is a plus.

  • Are accurate and precise. You enjoy working with data and maintaining an overview, even in busy periods.

  • Are a self-starter who is pro-active and able to work independently.

  • Are a problem solver. You are happy to help customers/suppliers with their questions and try to find solutions together.

  • Have good communication skills in Dutch and English. All internal communication is in English, so it is necessary that you speak English. Basic knowledge of French is a plus. 

  • Are looking for a job in which you can grow. You can learn a lot from your colleagues; it is up to you to determine in which direction!

  • Want to work from the office in Turnhout 4 days a week.

  • Are just as enthusiastic about our mission as we are!
